There are very good possibility
to get hold of weather data via internet. Although ships still
use the normal weather fax, it may be possible that they may
already have a computer and can go onto the net with handy or
WLAN but the weather services still transmit with radio weather
fax. Because a provision is not yet possible on the oceans. That
is why not all weather services are available over the internet
that is why with the RadioCom it is also possible for the
reception off weather fax by radio.
A shortwave radio is connected to the computer and is controlled
by the RadioControl from the program MeteoCom (see
Radio-Reception)
with this weather reports per text and picture are displayed in
the MeteoViewer.
With the MeteoCom, that works unseen in the background you can
observe the current reception process this is only a small
monitor from which you can get into the RadioControl program.
Here you will find the three sections for tasks
for the radio reception. One section for the radio control and
one for the FrequencyTimeManger and one for the decoding of the
different types of transmission.

The FrequencyTimeManger is for controlling the different times of transmission and decoding fully automatic because nobody knows when, who, where , is transmitting what and for which region the weather report is meant there is also a ScheduleManger integrated.

This ScheduleManger reports on who / when / what / where

the internet The decoder is connected to the signal-processor in
your computer and saves having to obtain the expensive hardware
decoder. The problems of receiving the weather-cards via
shortwave are well known. Especially for this there are a few
things to help you. Every bandwidth and every offset are possible
the normal modules for the cards are 267, 288, 357, 576 with 48,
60, 90, 120, 180, 240 RPM. A very high quality filter enables you
to get rid of disturbances.
The automatically saved weather faxes can be viewed with the
MeteoViewer by clicking onto them the can be looked at processed
or printed..
This program allows you to look at the pictures, print or save them. They can also be filtered to get rid off all disturbances, they may be enlarged or turned this is done quicker than with most graphic programs.
