MeteoServer = Weather per Internet

The MeteoServer is a worldwide Data-Service for metrological data. It is especially developed for the Navy therefore also for the professional user. All internet sites with the name MeteoServer are reserved since 1998. Four of these sites are in use for the Main-MeteoServer. The Main-server-sites .net and .de are in Germany .com and .info are in the USA. These four internet sites are used alternately by overload or loss off  the site.  There  are  two  fast  data  servers (4 computers connected as a cluster computer), so that if one falls out then the other will take over the work of the other until the other is ready for use again.
 
Most of the data "Public Domain" that can be obtained worldwide are placed hier without any costs. Data that is specially prepared by other providers or bought by providers can only be purchased. The area of the data is wordwide and use the model off NOAA NMC = NCEP. As a minimum the system provides the following service:

4x a day weather forecasts up to 7 days
(also 16 days for a professional overview) with a 1.hour resulution for:

 

Wave- height, direction and period Air, water, and ground -temperature Wind speed and direction Air pressure and Humidity Cloud cover and precipitation amount Rain-, Hale-,Thunderstorm,Snow- und Ice- Symbolism

4x a day Synop-Analyses for the statistic
Synop-Data with the original position of the measurement and exact discretion of the observed weather as well as a Nowcast-data-grid for:

3 Service-types are available: 
Service 1 - Online Service
 
The MeteoServer WWW Service offers an internet access for the graphical visualized Marin-weather-information-level, and help you make a decision easier an better than is normally possible. Because of the high fees the existing model is unattractive for users on board and is normally only used by spippers of big yachts and possibly by a few competition groups. However this MeteoServer has a useable data-access-model for the normal skipper that want to check the weather conditions before sailing, this service called up easily, for example from home or the harbour or from the sailing club. This www-Service is free and offers many products as "Public Domain" from different metrological services and diverse own MeteoServer-Products.

Service 2 -  Offline Service

 
This service is for the use onboard and is for computers IPAC's, PDA's or notebooks, that can load service-data per wireless Internet, per Mobil telephone, WLAN Hotspots or Access-Points. Because Internet-Sessions are still expensive today, in contrast a data download is quit cheap. A special method off compression keeps the data small, after downloading the data you can then look at the data without any further costs hereby you will achieve the same as with an internet session on the MeteoServer sites and the costs are now attractive.

This is all achieved with a special program called MeteoCom, that is freeon the download sites. This extra allows the automatic download of the newest data. The data communication is automatic and controls the diverse communication devices that are needed for the wireless-internet-access. With the MeteoCom software the data amount can be selected so that only the needed data is transferred, which also helps bringing down the costs.

Such a service can be accomplished with the normal wireless communication terrestrial as well as satellite, normally with handy or satellite telephone. Many users can now use the GPRS-Service effectively, that allows the internet-access by handy. With the satellite telephone besides other possibilities you can use for example. Inmarsat-C or with the Inmarasat BGAN-Service. A further possibility are the WLAN-Hotspots or so called  Access-Points. A up to a 30 Km coast near provision is at the moment booming. Also yachts and cargo freighters have such access points this opens completely new possibilities.

Service 3 -   Line-Service for 3-Party Software

 
There are properly a lot of skippers that have already invested in chart-plotters and other navigation software. A lot of these programmes can display the newest weather forecast data graphically (Geo-data). These manufacturers of the software will in the future implement MeteoCom so that they can also be used in the future so that the user can also use software for the weather information for his further planning.

The manufacturers are supported over the Developer-Plattform so thy can implement the software in there programs. A free DLL (Dynamic Link Library) with the name MeteoTools.dll will be supplied, that will especially help the manufacturers of Vector-Graphics. It saves them the complex mathematical and meteorological tasks with this they can easily implement weather data in there products for example the isobars and the isotherms vector lines are delivered of the same type that are used by sea charts, the producers of sea-charts will realise quite quickly how easy an integration would be.
